TOURNAMENT PLAYERS
The tournament is organized by the Breiðablik Chess Club and is intended for promising chess players in Iceland aged 16-25, giving them the opportunity to achieve IM or GM norms. The concept is for this tournament to be held every two years, with flexibility to adapt the format each time according to circumstances and suitability.

Participants:
Final confirmation of participants for the first International Kópavogur Tournament is currently underway. A presentation of all players will be published shortly on the tournament website. Players are requested to provide a photograph and a short biography (approximately 20 lines) highlighting key milestones in their chess careers.

10-player closed invitational tournament, round-robin

6 Icelandic players aged 16–25, and 4 foreign players (IMs and GMs)

Venue: Glass Hall, 3rd floor, Stúkan, Kópavogur Stadium

Time control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move, with an additional 15 minutes after 40 moves
